The light is dead.

I think they lost their light somewhere in the shadows. It’s sad to think that it may have burned out when it was once so very strong that it vibrated with life and love. Did it have to dye, or did they neglect to nourish the fire that burned deep inside? That poor little light, a victim of their indifference and laziness, has been diminished and defeated. What was once held in magnificence for the world has abandoned them for their betrayal, and left them floundering for solid ground. Their world has become unstable and they are now forced to chart over rocky terrain, tempers flare as everyone has become increasingly aggravated, words never meant to be heard are spoken, and forgiveness and acceptance have been forgotten.
Time and again a passing stranger may bare witness to a forlorn expression crossing over one of their faces as they mournfully ponder what was then and what is now. “If only?” is the question they ask themselves as they observe the passing of their light. They still have not learned the true question to the answer they seek, they forgot the first rule that they practiced, they forgot how to be unselfish to each other and occasionally when they do remember they are to prideful to take pursuit. So they prepare themselves for what only seems to be inevitable and quietly tuck away their memories of that once so glorious light.

…I too will miss the light.
